Roper, Kooser elementary schools rise to the challenge with blood drives

Roper and Kooser elementary schools held dueling blood drives on Tuesday but both came out winners with high participation among staff and community members.

Roper Principal Tim Muggy had already planned to host an American Red Cross Bloodmobile at his school when he challenged Kooser to do the same. Both schools rose to the challenge, with Roper collecting 41 units of blood from 50 donors and Kooser collecting 27 units from 26 donors. Donors were encouraged to donate in honor of a child.
